Abstract: This research explores strategies for enhancing teacher training programs in vocational education in Nigeria, aiming to strengthen instructional quality, curriculum relevance, and student outcomes. Educators in vocational education face unique challenges, requiring specialized knowledge and pedagogical skills to effectively prepare students for technical careers. The study aims to (1) identify competencies and training needs of vocational educators, (2) evaluate current teacher training programs and their effectiveness in meeting educational goals, and (3) propose recommendations for improving professional development opportunities and pedagogical practices. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from vocational educators, administrators, and educational policymakers. A sample size of 400 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent vocational institutions and teacher training centers in Ekiti State. Case studies will examine successful models of educator training and development. Findings revealed gaps in pedagogical training, technological integration, and industry alignment among vocational educators. Recommendations include establishing standardized professional development frameworks, integrating industry placements and mentorship programs, and leveraging digital platforms for continuous learning and collaboration among vocational educators to enhance teaching effectiveness and student success.
